How to Connect with Your Partner in One Minute, Five Minutes, or An Hour

Like our bodies, relationships need nurturing to stay healthy. Connecting with your partner throughout the day will do just that, and there are many ways to do so. Even when there’s not much by way of time, a quick romantic moment can pack a lot of meaning. Below are some ideas to get you started.

One Minute:

 

Leave a love note (e.g., on a post-it at home, or via text message)

 

Send a picture of something special to the two of you

 

A warm hug

 

A romantic kiss

 

Gaze into each other’s eyes

 

Spray your favorite scent on for your partner

 

Give your partner a quick hand massage

 

Recite a love note for your partner

 

Caress your partner’s back and/or shoulders

 

Whisper something loving into their ear

 

 

Five Minutes:

 

Share the favorite moment about your day with each other

 

Tell your partner something you appreciate about them or your relationship

 

Share coffee or tea together

 

Relax and snuggle on the couch together 

 

Listen to a song together

 

Dance to a song together

 

Sing a duet together

 

Start planning your next date together (e.g., call to make a dinner reservation or reserve movie tickets)

 

Practice a brief mediation exercise together

 

Look at your old photos together

Watch a show together

 

Take a walk together

 

Cuddle in bed

It’s important to make time for each other through the course of your day together. But that is often easier said than done. But capturing a minute here, or five minutes there, you’d be pleasantly surprised at just how much you can add up by way of little loving moments.
