Ways to connect with your partner this holiday season

Green holiday plants and red berries

The holidays are always a time for getting together. There are the family gatherings and meals; the meet-ups with friends; the company parties. Lost in the shuffle might be getting together with your partner! But, just as all the other get-togethers are important, it's important to take some time out of the hustle and bustle of the season to get cozy and closer with your special someone -- just the two of you.

Here are some ways for you to create your very own winter wonderland:

Enjoy the sights:

Lots of neighborhoods put up festive lights and decorations. Take a nice leisurely drive or stroll and ooh and ahh at the creativity. Are you a nautical person? Some harbors feature lighted boat parades! If even the thought of boats makes you queasy, there are other displays to potentially check out, like light exhibits at the local arboretum.

Not one to just sit on the sidelines? Decorate your own house! Blast that holiday music as you put up the tree, string the lights around the house, and turn your home into a festive place!

Treat yourselves:

Wintery drinks are always a nice way to warm up together. Get your peppermint mocha fix and relax together. Or, satisfy your sweet tooth and bake some holiday treats.

Cozy up & snuggle up:

What better way to get away from the busy malls and bumper to bumper traffic than to grab a blanket, put on some fuzzy socks and sweaters, and cuddle on the couch! Turn on some music, get a fire going, and enjoy those yummy treats. Don't have a fireplace? Turn on the TV and watch the cheesiest holiday movie can you find.

Play together:

Now's a great time to go on an ice-skating date. Or, if you're feeling more adventurous, head up that mountain for some skiing and snowboarding. If the extreme sports is too much, you could always build a snow man together, make snow angles, or have a good old fashioned snowball fight.

No matter what you do, the best part of connecting with your love this winter is that you'll be enjoying the best gift you could ever wish for: each other.
